Several issues were discussed including Grafting and matress stitch.  Joan suggested we bring in two pieces to the next meeting that can be grafted as a practice.

Neckbands were also discussed including an article from 1 April 95 Machine Knitting Monthly.

Roslyn showed 2 piece using Bendigo Bamboo and 4 ply cotton using different tensions as an example of how you get a different result using different yarns but supposedly the same “4 ply”.  Noted the Bamboo was incredibly soft to touch!

The dates for the meetings were reviewed as Shirley had been unable to make today’s meeting so it was suggested that Shirley’s presentation be deferred.    The suggested current dates are now:

Subject to confirmation with Shirley is it suggested that Shirley’s demo  of Cast On / Off techniques be held on 27 May and other candidate demos include:

• Necklines
• Edgings
• Attaching a Collar
• Use of the Green Ruler

A quick demonstration of pattern 207 followed using cheques, transfer, rack and the BX and arrows settings.
